Like Inventor and AutoCAD, Revit now has its own official AUGI wish list. Wishes will be collected three times per year; the top 10 wishes from each cycle will be sent on to the development teams at Autodesk. After each cycle the wish list starts anew to ensure that the wishes are current. The top wishes from the year will be presented to Autodesk in person at Autodesk University.

Because these wishes are going to be recorded quantitatively, we are going to be quite rigorous about the format of each wish. In short: if the wish is not in the required format, it will not be added to the wish list. If you want to have a better chance of making your wish come true: define how the feature would work -- turn it into a specification so that a developer could readily "build" the feature from your description.

Be sure to check out previous wish lists -- some have already been incorporated into Revit already. On this page, check out the Wish List Voting Results on the Left Nav bar. For each cycle, you can see the top 10 wishes, plus, if you click the "Show Remaining Wishes" button at the bottom of the list of wishes, you can see the rest of the approved wishes for that cycle.

Make sure that your wish has not already been fulfilled in the software before making a wish! And remember: the wishes being voted on in this cycle cannot even be considered for Revit 2011. These wishes can only be considered for Revit 2012 and beyond; that's just the way software development works. It's tough to be patient, isn't it?
