Dear AUGI Member,

We will be having a special election to fill four open AUGI Board of Director seats and are conducting a survey of all AUGI members. We would like your feedback. Please respond no later than March 27th to ensure that your vote will be counted. Thank you for your help and your continued support of AUGI!

Affirmation Ballot

This is our current system. The Nominations and Elections Committee reviews nominees and certifies eligible candidates according to requirements stated in the call for nominations and in the Bylaws. Those nominees who pass the certification stage are then interviewed by the committee. This interview will fully describe the requirements for the position and determine the candidate's commitment to fulfill those requirements. The list is reduced to match the number of seats open for election and the slate of candidates is presented to the full Board for review. The list of those certified who did not make the slate is also presented to the Board for review. The Board then approves the final slate of candidates for the election. Those names are placed on the affirmation ballot. The affirmation ballot is then presented for yes or no approval of each candidate. Candidates achieving a 2/3 majority of yes votes are elected.

Ranked Ballot

In a ranked ballot the Nominations and Elections Committee reviews nominees and certifies eligible candidates according to requirements stated in the call for nominations and in the Bylaws. Each nominee that is certified is then placed on the ballot. The members then vote for their top choices. The votes are tallied and the candidates receiving the highest number of votes are elected to the open Board seats.
