Homepage Poll: When Did You Join AUGI?
This month’s homepage poll asked visitors what year they joined AUGI. Obviously, the results are on a very small portion of the membership, but, it is fun to look back and reminisce (at least for us old folks like me).
Of those who took this month’s poll, there is an average of 9 years of AUGI membership!
You can read some organizational historical highlights here:
http://www.augi.com/about-augi/history/
You might know that AUGI was formed in 1989, under the name North American AutoCAD User Group (NAAUG).
But, did you also know that AutoCAD 2000 was the first release to ship with AUGI mentioned in the Help Menu? 1999 was also the first year that AUGI offered free membership and surveys were introduced.
2000 was a year of skyrocketing membership and saw the move from a mailed newsletter to the (email-based) Guilds and the debut of HotNews!
If you take a look back at our Surveys archive page, you can see how AUGI members found out about the organization.

Only 25% of folks learn about us through impersonal means (such as the Autodesk Help menu, through a search engine or social media). Most signed up after a face-to-face encounter (in the workplace, at a tradeshow or through educational channels).

Be sure to take part in the next homepage poll on experience with Board drafting.
