Letter from the President - February 2015
And the results are in!
By the time you read this you may already know the results of the latest election for the AUGI Board of Directors. I would still like to take a few minutes of your time to discuss the changes on the Board of Directors.
I would like to acknowledge Desirée Mackey. Her term was up at the end of 2014 and she decided not to run for reelection. Dezi, as she is affectionately known, worked hard for a long time as AUGI’s Treasurer and last year was one of our Vice Presidents. She was a great addition to the board and provided a voice that got things done. We wish Dezi success in her new endeavors. Her presence on the board will be missed.
Tommy Holder stepped down from the board a few months before his term expired due to personal reasons. Tommy did a lot while on the board to help create a shipbuilders community for AUGI. We hope that he can continue to help that community grow.
Kate Morrical was an appointee to the board and was a great addition. You may know that she used to work with Autodesk. Kate’s experience with a large corporation and her knowledge of the people within Autodesk have been invaluable. Her appointed term was over at the end of the year and we were all happy when she decided to run for election and then was elected to the board by you.
Chris Lindner was elected to the board this year. He served on the AUGI board in the past and I had the pleasure of working with him previously on the board. We appreciate Chris’s experience and are happy that he has returned to the board. We acknowledge his commitment to AUGI by his seeking election once again.
Curt Moreno, who has been involved with AUGI for many years as a volunteer, recently took on the role of Social Media Manager. He decided that he wanted to contribute even more to AUGI and ran for election. We are happy that he was elected to the board and look forward to the enthusiasm he will bring.
The AUGI board will appoint the officers at the January meeting. By the time you read this, the officers will be announced by AUGI.
