Letter From The President - May 2014
Hello AUGI Member!
I simply cannot believe it is May already! This year is simply evaporating as I type. Myself and the rest of the AUGI team has been very busy so far working on a number of programs and changes. So let's run it down!
At AUGIWORLD we keep pushing out magazines and making news in the industry. We have a couple new content managers, Shawn Herring has assumed control of the AutoCAD Civil 3D topic and Kimberly Fuhrman has taken over Revit Structure. Are you interested in writing an article or two? Just content augiworld(at)augi.com to find out how to get involved.
Moving onto the website, the AUGI Resources system is up and running. We've had a few dozen contributors to our newest membership benefit, and are officially out of beta. So now we need more resources! Do you have a solution that helps the Autodesk industry? Then submit it! http://www.augi.com/resources/
And then on to the big news... I'm stepping down as President. Finally!
I know, I know, it sounds horrible. But after +3.5 years it is time to adjust things while the time is right. The reality is that I am going to focus my energy and efforts into the operational side of things. My replacement is R. Robert (Bob) Bell, formally a Vice President with AUGI. Bob has shown great prowess in helping the board develop consensus and leading our governance efforts. I very much appreciate my time leading the organization and the faith the Board placed in me. I seek the same high level of contribution and impact as before but with a tad less SPAM. :)
So you will still see me at AU and hear from me often when you are interfacing with the management side of AUGI. So until then, take care and keep up the good work!
Thanks!
David
