A Refreshed Website
Those who are attending AU will be among the first to learn about our newly developed website. We are in the process of updating our website infrastructure and making some modifications to the interface. The new look and feel will be a variation on the current theme but the back side will be totally enhanced.
We are working with a web design firm named Encaffeinated. Their team of web developers has provided design and technology direction so that the end result will be based on a new CMS called Expression Engine. This CMS will allow much easier content modifications and enhancement. We will also be replacing our existing Forums with the Expression Engine Forums.
We are pressing toward a launch date at AU2010. Not all functionality will be in place at that time, but will soon be added.
In the initial launch, the website will include:
- New Forums
- Language-based efforts
- Country Chapter sites
- Local Chapter infrastructure
- Education
- Survey archives
- Publications
- Product Communities
- Link to AUGI Career site
Areas that may not be included in the initial launch will be added as they are needed and developed. Functionality that may not be include in the initial launch, because they are not needed at this specific time, could include the Wish List process, Voting, Surveys, ATP, and possibly others. These will be developed as need and completed in 2011.
We look forward to the launch as this is the culmination of our 2010 Strategic Plan and is evidence of the effort from many to get us to this point.
